Annually, there's a celebration of arguably one of the greatest writers: William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was a revolutionary writer that drafted over 200+ marvelous works ranging from plays, poems, verses, and hymns!
Although he died 406 years ago, his name is globally known, and his works are re-imagined and re-interpreted to this day! The Kentucky Shakespeare Association is a "not-for-profit charitable organization, professional theatre company" that offers performances, educational performances, workshop tours, camps and classes, and community programs throughout Kentucky.-KYShakespeare.
The Kentucky Shakespeare Association "serves communities through Kentucky education programs for schools, public performances, and community outreach programs." -KYShakespeare.

Kentucky Shakespeare's Globe Players present the beloved comedy directed by Kentucky Shakespeare's Director of Education, Kyle Ware. The cast is comprised of students from multiple area high schools, and the production is the culmination of a 5-week training program.-KYShakespeare.

Late Night Shakes
10:30 PM on June 11, June 25, July 9, and July 23
The Louisville Improvisors returns for a 7th year with Late Night Shakes on select Saturdays bringing late-night improvised Shakespeare plays created from audience suggestions. -Shakespeare.
Louisville Ballet
Shakespeare in Dance
August 3-7, 2022
Rounding out the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival season, Louisville Ballet returns to the Festival stage for a sixth season to present Shakespeare in Dance, a Shakespeare-inspired dance premiere.-KYShakespeare.
ASL interpretation will be provided for the following performances: Thursday, June 2 for Twelfth Night, Thursday, June 23 for Richard III, and Thursday, July 7 for The Merry Wives of Windsor. (For all ASL scheduled performances, the makeup rain date will be the following evening.)-Shakespeare.

Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare in the Park is a collaborative, public event showing free performances in public parks throughout Kentucky. The Kentucky Shakespeare Association believes that Shakespeare's "truth and power belongs to everyone."-KYShakespeare.
Shakespeare in the Park is the actualization of this. By having FREE, PUBLIC showings, the Kentucky Shakespeare Association provides the opportunity for all to enjoy the magnificence of Shakespearean theatre. Shakespeare with Veterans, Juvenile Justice Arts Program, Shakespeare with Immigrants and Refugees, Survivorship Shakespeare, Community Residencies.-KYShakespeare.
"Shakespeare with Veterans is a weekly conversation group with veterans of the US Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, representing conflicts from Vietnam to today, with former ranks from Specialist to Brigadier General."-KYShakespeare.
"The group performs snippets of Shakespeare text for groups of veterans and civilians all over the city during the year. And in the Summer, they perform an abridged Shakespeare play on Kentucky Shakespeare's stage in Central Park.-KYShakespeare.
"Shakespeare with Veterans brings service members together as a band of brothers and sisters and provides the opportunity for camaraderie and a higher sense of purpose that represents what veterans loved most during our military service."-KYShakespeare.

Since 1995, the Kentucky Shakespeare Association has supported the incarcerated as a non-profit program, ' Shakespeare Behind Bars KY.' "Kentucky Shakespeare facilitates comprehensive Shakespeare arts programming at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center in the Indiana Department of Correction in Jeffersonville, serving youth ages 10-17 throughout the school year."-KYShakespeare.
The Touring Arts for Immigrants and Refugees program, with the help of "2017-2019, veteran Kentucky Shakespeare artists Abigail Bailey Maupin and Gregory Maupin created and performed a welcoming, interactive performance using the universal language of physical comedy, commedia dell'arte, and clown to cross language barriers and use the unifying power of the arts to connect with audience members from dozens of counties, regardless of their native language."-KYShakespeare.
The Survivorship Shakespeare program at Gilda's Club (2440 Grinstead Dr, Louisville, KY 40204) is a public assembly and "a safe place for creative and emotional expression, resulting in an environment of learning, teamwork, and, most importantly, community and."-KYShakespeare.
